At last year’s TED Conference–which is sort of a yearly comic-con for preternatural geniuses–Dave Eggers made a $100K wish that “creative individuals” would “find a way to directly engage with a public school in [their] area.” The wish gave way to Once Upon a School, an annotated database of nationwide projects aimed at enriching the quality of public schools with refreshing, innovative approaches, in line with the kind of thing Eggers’ 826 Centers have been doing for some time.
Recently OUaS highlighted the Capitol Letters Writing Center efforts, including this quick video of the Cardozo Book Project I’ve been working on that features Hank Lewis, Matt Klam, Kyle Dargan, a bunch of talented student writers, and the back of my head:
